LUNA COHEN BAND
Having Chagas is not the end of the world
Just know that people’s lives can be better
Hope is the engine that powers the world
You must believe that health is the most important thing
And there is a place
Where someone can help you
Let’s go together without fear, for we have much ground to cover
Never fear
Fear will never give you life
Your healthy beating heart knows
That you deserve to be happy
Never fear
Fear will never give you life
Your healthy beating heart knows
That you deserve to be happy.

LUNA COHEN AND BEATCHAGAS
Entering the music industry as a way to spread the word about Chagas was a complex task. In 2004, Luna Cohen and other musicians performed at the 20th anniversary celebration for the Tropical Medicine Unit at Drassanes (PROSICS Barcelona).
Luna Cohen is a Brazilian singer who lives in Barcelona and has established a friendly relationship with the Tropical Medicine Unit. Because of this friendship, we asked her to be the first person to write and record a song about Chagas.
She was very happy with the idea, and a few days later, after speaking to her mother who is a pediatrician in Minas Gerais, she brought us the song “A vida da gente pode ser melhor” (“People’s Lives Can Be Better”), a beautiful example of Brazilian music with a sweet rhythm.
